You don’t need another technology company telling you what technology your individuals need.
You need a provider who understands the person-centered planning process, developmental-disability services, staffing realities, guardianship, individual choice, and the practical realities of implementing supports.
That’s where Threshold is different.
We start with the individual and their goals. Technology comes afterward.
What does a good candidate look like?
Technology-enabled supports may be worth exploring when an individual:
✓ Wants greater independence
✓ Wants more privacy
✓ Can complete some activities independently
✓ Can communicate or summon assistance
✓ Can respond to prompts or alerts
✓ Currently receives substantial monitoring
✓ Has a goal of living more independently
✓ Has appropriate backup support
✓ May benefit from environmental or assistive technology
But not everyone is a candidate.
What we measure…
If We Can’t Demonstrate That It’s Helping, We Should Reconsider It.
Threshold can track outcomes such as:
Independence – What can the individual do now that they couldn’t do before?
Safety – Are identified risks being appropriately addressed?
Privacy – Has unnecessary physical presence decreased?
Choice – Does the individual have greater control over their support?
Satisfaction – How does the individual and guardian feel about the arrangement?
Support utilization – How has the mix of physical and remote support changed?
Could technology be part of the solution?
Technology should always support a person’s goals rather than replace support.
