Technology with Heart
Individuals/Families/Guardians
More Independence. More Choice. More Life.
Technology with Heart helps people with developmental disabilities live more independently—while knowing support is there when they need it.
Remote supports and assistive technology aren’t about replacing people.
They’re about finding the right kind of support for the person.
What if support didn't always have to mean someone in the room?
Maybe they can:
- prepare their own meals
- manage parts of their daily routine
- spend more time alone
- respond to reminders
- call for help when they need it
- make more choices about their day
- live in a home of their own
But everyone involved wants to know:
“Will they be safe?”
That’s where Technology with Heart comes in.
We combine technology, trained support professionals, and individualized planning to create a support system built around the person, not the technology.
What does remote support look like?
Support When You Need It. Privacy When You Don’t.
Remote support allows trained Threshold professionals to provide real-time monitoring and assistance from a remote location.
Depending on the individual’s needs, a home may use:
- two-way communication
- motion or activity sensors
- fall detection
- stove monitoring
- medication technology
- emergency response systems
- video technology where appropriate
- other individualized assistive technologies
Threshold currently operates remote-supported locations and a 24/7/365 Remote Monitoring Center.
The goal isn’t more technology. The goal is more independence.
Do you understand my child?
We Know People. We Know Disability Services. We Know Technology.
- Technology is only one part of what we do.
- Threshold has experience providing residential and disability services to people with developmental disabilities. That experience comes first.
- We add technology when it can help someone do more, live more independently, or receive support in a way that better fits their life.
People First. Technology Second.
