At Threshold Residential Services, we provide safe, welcoming homes for adults with developmental disabilities. We help people live with dignity and independence—while offering the support they need to thrive.

We currently serve individuals in 22 residential locations across Columbiana County and surrounding areas. Our trained, caring staff are available 24/7 in every home to help with daily needs and ensure safety and comfort.

We provide services in a range of home settings, including:

• Ten licensed residential facilities owned and operated by Threshold
• Homes owned by the County Board of Developmental Disabilities
• Apartments or houses owned or rented by individuals or their families

No matter the setting, our goal is the same: to create a safe, supportive, and stable home where each person can live life on their terms.

Using Technology to Support Independence

Threshold uses Remote Support and Assistive Technology in several homes to help people live more independently. This system includes things like:

• Two-way video tablets for instant support
• Door and motion sensors for added safety
• Fall alerts and emergency shut-offs
• Medication reminders and more

This technology allows us to meet each person’s needs while encouraging choice, freedom, and peace of mind—for individuals and families.

Transportation Services

We provide reliable transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, community events, and more through Homemaker Personal Care (HPC) transportation. If someone needs to get somewhere, we’ll help them get there safely.

Respite Care

We offer short-term or long-term respite care for families who need a break or are facing emergencies. Whether it’s for a weekend or a few months, we’ll care for your loved one with the same respect and attention we give every day.

Help with Benefits (Representative Payeeship)

We know that Social Security and benefit paperwork can be confusing. For individuals who receive our residential services, we can act as a Representative Payee—helping manage benefits, pay bills, and communicate with agencies like Social Security, Job and Family Services, and the County Board of DD.
