Sensory Garden
Engage and elevate the senses.
One way we are working towards this goal is through the creation of a community sensory garden, located 71 W. Taggart Street in East Palestine, Ohio. This garden will profile a safe and relaxing space to be used by our residents and the East Palestine community.
Sensory gardens are designed to engage and elevate the senses and are particularly beneficial for those with disabilities, additional needs, and young children. The interactive elements of the garden activate various areas of the brain and create new neurological pathways. The garden’s overall experience helps to boost cognitive function, improves motor skills and provides life-long environmental education.
We plan to use upcycled and new materials to create a beautiful and interactive botanical experience. We want this project to inspire and bring the community together to create a space that can be enjoyed by all.
